Main characteristics of ISO-VDMA-NFE cylinders - PES type

Oversized piston rod version

The oversized piston rod concerns all applications where radial stress generated in the rod is superior to the admisible collapsing stress of the standard version.

Version designed for use with electronic inductive connectors

This version is especially designed for:

  • environments where ILS and MR detectors are excluded.
  • environments in which a magnetic field is generated by the machine tools.
  • explosion-proof environments

Piston rod protection boot version

This option is especially designed to match with polluted environments where protection against big particules is necessary:

  • Mechanical industry:
    • Protection against iron or not iron material filings
  • Food industry:
    • Grain warehouse control
    • Protection of manipulated products against grease used in the cylinder.

Cylinders mounted back-to-back

Cylinders mounted back-to-back are designed to achieve the functions 3 or 4 positions in an economic way.

Cylinders with mounted nose to nose option are especially designed to fit with packaging industries, handling, conditioning. Examples:

Double force tandem cylinder - Linked piston rods

Tandem-mounted cylinders with connected rods develop :

  • twice a standard same diameter cylinder force,
  • A better effort compared to a N+1 diameter cylinder.
  • Example :
    A tandem cylinder Ø 32 mm develops a stress which is 20 % more than a standard cylinder Ø 40 mm.
    - A tandem cylinder Ø 32 mm develops 90.7 daN at 6 bar
    - A standard cylinder Ø 40 mm develops 75.6 daN at 6 bar

    This construction is designed to provide a requested effort in a lower front dimension compared to a standard cylinder developing the same effort.

    Cylinder with 3 positions, rods not connected

    The three-position cylinder is a monobloc assembly composed of 2 cylinder bodies in tandem, generally with different strokes, whose piston rods are not connected together.

    The main applications of the 3 position cylinders are for pressing and raising loads with two different positions (and the rest position). They are especially designed for:

    • conveyance,
    • packaging machinery,
    • components distribution and selection.
